G.3 PC208W WINDOWS SOFTWARE

AND COMPUTER SETUP

Using Campbell Scientific’s PC208W Windows

software for callback, the network or Device

Map must be setup for the site as if the

computer is initiating the call. Two additional

settings are required to allow the datalogger to

initiate the call.

To have PC208W answer a datalogger initiated

call, you must first Setup the Connection to the

site. Figure G.3-1 shows an example station for

a CR10X site called “Logan”. Below is an

example of the three devices required for the

phone link to the datalogger with the key

settings required to allow callback.

COM Port: (Figure G.3-2)

• Correct COM port number (COM2

for this example)

• COM port Hardware settings has

“Allow Callback on This Port”

Modem (Modem at computer): (Figure G.3-3)

• Correct baud rate: 1200 for DC112

or VS1, 9600 for COM200/COM300.
